…sigh…

Clever wordplay, but was I the only one hoping LeBron would get his ring this year :D ? But speaking of the heat–and it sure feels like an oven in Dallas–there’s no better respite than something summery for the feet. Here are first signs of sale scores:

Ahhh, the magic of shoes…Dirk who?

But wait, this weekend was about family, so I have a Big D shoutout to all the dads on Father’s Day. Especially my favorite one:

Happy Father’s Day, Daddy!

So, a pretty rough week with travel in the mix. From these pics you can probably figure out that I’m presently in Big D. Yes, it’s about time Dirk got his ring. But no, it doesn’t make me feel any better when I think about the Spurs’ less than stellar season–do I need to remind myself that I watched them losing to the Clippers at the beginning of the season? I know, the Clippers!

So what does a girl do in Dallas to drown her sorrows?

Photographic evidence to come…

While some of you were busy cheering or booing LeBron James in Game Six last night, I was partly doing that and partly looking over more shoes that have arrived from sales. The only pair of 3 that came since my last post and that actually fits is the patent nude Gucci espadrille you see above.

What do you think, close enough of a match with that previously mentioned and impossible to perfectly match beige claire flap?

If shoes aren’t your thing, I’ll have RTW eye candy for you later as more goodies show up next week!

The good thing about June is that sale season has begun. The bad thing about June is that sale season has begun! But at least I’ll have eye candy trickling in to share with you here.

So today two pairs of shoes magically showed up outside my door. The first is the skull encrusted McQueen gold flip flops.

The second pair is a Barbie pink patent Valentino wedge with a bow, as if the bubblegum color weren’t girly enough:

Yeah, that’s a lot of saccharin for my feet, but oddly enough, I’m attracted. Not sure what purse I’d carry with that though. Hmmm.

If neither pair speaks to you, wait. Do you hear that? That’s the sound of more UPS trucks trekking uphill to my house, aka Shoes R Us ;-) .

One of the more interesting museums I visited this past month was the open-air Musée de la vie rurale en Wallonie. It is a remarkable compound in Saint-Hubert, on a nature reserve, consisting of original and reproduced structures representing provincial, rural life in 18th and 19th century Belgium. This area is referred to as Fourneau St. Michel and there are other museums nearby as well.

Inside each building you could get a glimpse of precursors to Whole Foods…

Kinko’s…

and Saks shoe department…

As expected, there are no McMansions here. Houses used to be small yet efficient…how did women live without walk-in closets back then?

A few of my favorites are this schoolhouse and chapel:

Do you wonder where they parked their rides?

I’ve always wanted to convert a large barn into a house…wonder if they’d sell this one to me:
