Rotterdam is eye candy for enthusiasts of modern architecture, but as I make my way through the park toward the water today, I think at heart I am still old school. They just don’t build things like these anymore…

 

Not that I don’t love architecture like this (because it’s why I’m here!),

 

 

but I’d rather come home to this…

 

Actually, I’d love to come home to this structure–which is presently a restaurant–that sits on a hill inside the lush park:

 

It’s going to take me another hour to walk through this huge park, so I’ll leave you for now. But I can smell the water already…
