Two weeks into my Belgian guests’ visit and we are all about 5 kilos heavier…each. Though it’s true that we’ve been constantly on the move exploring Los Angeles via the metro rail (who knew there was life outside of a car in this town!) and on foot,
I’m not sure we’ve even made a dent in countering our caloric intake. Food in the US is just so abundant, varied, decadent, and sometimes ridiculously cheap compared to Europe that when we’re not busy shopping, we’re just, well, eating our way through LA…
And those are just a few pictures of some of our meals, not to mention the spur-of-the-moment snacks that we encounter as we look for landmarks around the city. Case in point is this pie break we took at the iconic Clifton’s Cafeteria in downtown LA:
Just looking at these pictures makes me want to run on the treadmill for about an hour. But I think I’ll go take a nap instead; dinner’s coming in an hour.
