Luck is my favorite four letter word. When I walk in my shoes each day, I understand exactly the first sentence in Mademoiselle Chanel’s quotation above. Luck is both a state of mind and a manifestation of the very hard work that goes into staying lucky. And when I reflect on all the mentors and guardian angels who have provided me refuge in my darkest hours, I understand her second sentence. Luck is recognizing that it is not a frailty but a blessing to receive the embrace of a much bigger world than yourself when you need it. As for her last sentence? I believe whatever you choose to be in your soul is how you define your life’s journey. I could certainly do much worse than to ask luck to be my travel companion.
The Chanel Jacket Diaries, Part 4: And sometimes it’s just about dumb luck, of which I have been a huge beneficiary in the fashion department. It’s being in the right place at the right time to find some of these closet goodies…which brings me to the jacket in today’s episode, an army green four-pocket jacket from the 2009 Paris Shanghai Métiers d’Art collection. Lucky charms green? Check.
Lesage embroidery trim and extraordinary buttons? Check and check.
Matching shoes? Will these YSL python slingbacks suffice? I think so!
Luck is when things match serendipitously, even if you buy things years apart. I think the Missoni silk top is the oldest item in today’s look (if you don’t count me :D), followed by the jacket, then the YSL python Tribtoo slingbacks.
Divine! Green is. My favourite colour. Encore!
Wow, what an amazing outfit! Im normally not a green person, but that jacket paired with the shoes is truly beautiful! So true about luck, i dont think I really understood it until I got older. When i was younger, all i think about is lottery tickets associated with luck, lol!
