I hope you all had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. I’m still trudging through a few deadlines but before continuing with my stories from Rome, how about we take a brief fashion break!

While lamenting about the disappointment chez Hermès last week, I left out a tiny detail that there was indeed another bag of sorts en route to me. It’s not the most practical bag in the world, but I’ve always loved the idea of a clutch. As if by carrying it, I would somehow suddenly finesse the art of insouciance. You know, like all those Parisian enchantresses who wake up looking like that…not a care in the world. That I, too, could look all nonchalant skipping through life with a wind machine following my every step instead of the hot chaotic mess that’s really my daily life.

I know, a bag can’t change who we are, but it sure is fun to fantasize about the potential of what could be :D…

And while we’re at fashion confessions, here are two new pairs of heels to add to my YSL family: the Palais black suede with white leather trim slingbacks…

and the dark coral boa Tribtoo slingbacks…

No, I could not roam around Rome in those high heels (and these two pairs are actually of the lower heel height that these styles come in!), so back to sandals in the next entry as we head back out into town…
